Native-produced theater.

Native Theater Co. is a professional theater company led by Native producers and actors and open to all ages and skill levels.

We provide a welcoming place for creatives to learn, grow and shine, while producing platforms where stories can be told.

A company, not just a show.

We are building a home for Native storytelling on stage: original productions, professional craft, and open doors. Whether you have spent decades in theater or have never stood in a wing, there is a place for you here.

NOW IN PRODUCTION

Shuuluk Wechuwvi - Where Lightning Was Born

Guided by Nature – Built by Knowledge & Tradition for Future Generations

Is a Trinational play created with the Eyaay Ahuun Foundation, Teatro Las Hermanas, and Kumeyaay / Kumiai cultural practitioners. First shows were in August of 2025 and will be launching Native Theater Co. with Tijuana River Action Month in October 2026. Performance dates and venues will be announced soon. Every show will include expert panels and educational offerings about the Tijuana Estuary and River Valley.

Stories carry knowledge.
Theater carries stories.

The Tijuana River Valley contains one of the last living estuaries on this coast, and the people of this region have carried its story for far longer than any of its maps. This production brings that story to the stage through a Trinational collaboration across the United States, Mexico, and the Kumeyaay / Kumiai Nation.

What starts as one play becomes a lasting practice: production, classes, and workshops combined with comics / graphic novels keeping stories alive for seven generations.

Every production needs more than a cast.
